LCA underway with CPI

An exciting milestone for Wild Hydrogen – setting new standards in sustainability and innovation

At Wild Hydrogen, sustainability and innovation lie at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we are thrilled to share an important development in our journey to revolutionise the energy sector: Wild Hydrogen is undertaking a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) in collaboration with CPI. This initiative represents a critical step forward in ensuring our solutions are as environmentally sound as they are impactful.

The LCA is being conducted in alignment with the rigorous ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards. These internationally recognised frameworks provide a robust and detailed methodology for assessing the environmental impacts of a product or technology throughout its entire lifecycle. From production to end-of-life disposal, every stage will be examined with precision to ensure consistency and methodological rigour. By adhering to these high standards, we aim to achieve a comprehensive understanding of our technology’s environmental footprint.

But what makes this LCA truly groundbreaking is CPI’s pioneering approach. Beyond meeting the ISO standards, CPI will integrate the consideration of the nine planetary boundaries into their analysis. This science-based framework considers critical environmental thresholds – such as climate change, land system change, biodiversity loss, and freshwater use – to help ensure sustainability and resilience at a global scale. By incorporating consideration of these boundaries, we’re not just measuring our impact but actively working to design solutions that operate within the limits of our planet’s ecosystems.

This approach aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver carbon-negative hydrogen and biomethane technologies that decarbonise key sectors such as transport, energy, and heavy industry. It’s a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship and our drive to create sustainable solutions that stand the test of time.

As we embark on this exciting phase of our development, we’re not just deepening our understanding of our environmental impact – we’re setting a new benchmark for sustainability and circularity in the energy sector. This collaboration with CPI is more than an assessment; it’s a partnership aimed at building a cleaner, greener future.

We’re incredibly excited to see the results of this Life-Cycle Assessment and look forward to sharing updates on our progress. Together with CPI and our stakeholders, we are driving innovation and sustainability to new heights. Stay tuned for more as we continue to shape the future of energy.
